1. Services

Lush Lengths by Tayla provides professional hairdressing services, including cutting, styling, blow drying, colouring, lightening and conditioning treatments, carried out by a qualified and insured stylist. Services are agreed at consultation and may be adapted during the appointment where the condition of the hair makes the original plan unsafe or unachievable.

Where services are provided: Services are offered from the private studio in Peterborough. Appointments at a client’s own address are not currently offered.

Accessibility and inclusivity: Lush Lengths by Tayla is committed to providing an inclusive service. Please mention any accessibility needs at booking and reasonable adjustments will be made where possible.

2. Bookings and appointments

Scheduling: Appointments can be booked online, by phone or by message, subject to availability.

Confirmation: A booking is confirmed only once the deposit has been paid and a confirmation email or text has been issued.

Arrival: Please arrive at the appointment time so there is space for a proper consultation before work begins.

Late arrivals: Late arrival may result in a shortened or reduced service so that subsequent appointments are not affected, with no reduction in fees. Arrival more than 15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show, incurring a fee of 50% of the service cost or forfeiture of the deposit.

Minimum age: Clients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must give consent for any colour service.

3. Patch tests and colour

Patch test requirement: A skin allergy test is required at least 48 hours before any colour service if you have not been coloured by Tayla before, or if more than six months have passed since your last service. This is a legal and insurance requirement. Without a valid patch test the colour service cannot go ahead, and the appointment will be treated as a late cancellation.

Disclosure: You must disclose any home or box colour, henna, previous lightening, chemical straightening, perms or relaxers. These products can react unpredictably with professional lightener, and Lush Lengths by Tayla accepts no liability for damage or unexpected results arising from undisclosed prior chemical services.

Results: Colour results vary with the hair’s starting condition, porosity and colour history. Where the desired result cannot safely be achieved in a single appointment, a staged plan will be recommended. Photographs shown at consultation are treated as a guide to direction, not a guaranteed outcome.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling

Cancellations: A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule without penalty. Cancellations within 48 hours, or no-shows, forfeit 50% of the deposit. In cases of documented emergency a credit valid for 6 months may be offered at the discretion of Lush Lengths by Tayla.

Rescheduling: Requests to move an appointment within 48 hours may be accommodated subject to availability.

Force majeure: Lush Lengths by Tayla is not liable for failure to perform services due to events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, illness or other unforeseen emergencies. Clients will be notified promptly and offered a full refund or a rescheduled appointment.

5. Payments

Pricing: Prices are listed on the services page. Where hair is unusually long, thick or requires significantly more product or time than the standard service allows, any additional charge will be agreed with you at consultation, before work begins. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Deposits: A deposit of 25% of the service price is taken at booking to secure the appointment and is deducted from the final bill.

Payment methods: The balance is payable on the day by cash or card. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed.

Gift cards: Gift cards are non-refundable but transferable, and must be used within 12 months of purchase.

6. Client responsibilities

• Disclosure: Complete the pre-appointment consultation form and disclose any allergies, scalp or skin conditions, medication, pregnancy, and the full colour history of your hair.
• Preparation: Arrive with hair free of heavy product build-up. For colour services, day-old hair is preferred so the scalp’s natural oils offer some protection.
• Conduct: Behave respectfully. Inappropriate behaviour, including harassment or attending under the influence of alcohol or drugs, may result in the appointment being ended and future services refused, without refund.
• Personal belongings: Lush Lengths by Tayla is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items, including damage to clothing not protected by the gown provided.

7. Stylist responsibilities

The stylist will maintain a professional, safe and hygienic working environment in line with UK regulations.

Tools, brushes and gowns are cleaned and sanitised between clients, and fresh towels are used for every appointment.

The stylist reserves the right to refuse or stop a service where proceeding would risk damaging the hair, where a required patch test has not been carried out, or where a client’s behaviour poses a risk to safety.

8. Health and safety

Contraindications: Colour services may not be suitable where there is broken skin, an active scalp condition, a known allergy to hair dye, or a recent adverse reaction. Lush Lengths by Tayla reserves the right to refuse a service where it would pose a health risk.

Allergies: Please disclose all known allergies, including to PPD, ammonia, fragrance and latex.

Aftercare: Aftercare advice is provided at the end of each appointment. Lush Lengths by Tayla cannot be held responsible for results affected by home colouring, heat styling without protection, or the use of unsuitable products after the service.

9. Adjustments and refunds

Putting it right: If you are unhappy with your hair, please get in touch within 7 days. Where the result differs from what was agreed at consultation, an adjustment appointment will be offered at no charge.

Refunds: Refunds for services already carried out are not generally provided, since the work cannot be returned. Where a service was not delivered as agreed and an adjustment is declined or unsuitable, a partial refund or credit may be offered at our discretion. A change of mind about an agreed result is not grounds for a refund.

Feedback and complaints: Please raise any concerns promptly by emailing hello@lushlengthsbytayla.com. Complaints are investigated promptly and we aim to resolve them within 7 working days.

10. Promotions and discounts

Lush Lengths by Tayla may offer promotions or discount codes, subject to the terms stated at the time of the offer. Promotions cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated and are subject to availability.

11. Privacy and confidentiality

Lush Lengths by Tayla complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Client information, including consultation records, colour formulas and patch test dates, is kept confidential and stored securely. Clients have the right to access, rectify or request deletion of their data by contacting hello@lushlengthsbytayla.com. Data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law. See the privacy policy for full detail.

12. Liability

Lush Lengths by Tayla is not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from services unless caused by negligence or wilful misconduct.

Clients accept responsibility for disclosing any condition, allergy or prior chemical service that may affect the safety or outcome of the appointment.

13. Changes to terms

Lush Lengths by Tayla reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be resolved in the UK courts.

16. Intellectual property

All content on the Lush Lengths by Tayla website, including text, images and logos, is owned by us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute or use it commercially without written permission. Photographs of your hair will only be taken and shared with your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
